BBC London offices evacuated after terrorist threat

British authorities received terrorist threat

THE BBC offices in west London were evacuated as police swooped on a suspicious vehicle parked near a tube station. The Metropolitan Police shut down parts of West London after an abandoned car sparked a major security alert.
Officers were called out to the suspicious car, parked in Wood Lane, just before 7.30am on Friday morning.
A large area, including the BBC offices, were said to have been evacuated while police dealt with a ‘security incident’.
Surrounding roads were temporarily closed near the tube station, Wood Lane, with eyewitnesses reporting several police cars, ambulance and fire engines on the scene. A spokesman for the Met confirmed officers have been stood down after they established the car was “non-suspicious” after investigation.
White City tube station is also used for Westfields shopping centre, one of the biggest in the country.
