Berlin: Still no reforms list submitted yet by SYRIZA govt

Back-and-forth negotiations without visible results and countless statements by involved politicians continue to generate ominous media reports

German Finance Ministry spokeswoman Marianne Kothe on Friday said the Berlin has no details on the list of reforms that the leftist SYRIZA government is due to present by Monday.
Speaking at a news conference, she said: “We have no concrete information presented to us”, while adding that eurozone ministers would meet once the list is submitted.
Kothe continued by noting that Athens has said it will present measures to boost tax revenues and encourage investors, as part of reforms aimed at reaching a deal with lenders early next week. Eurozone creditors must approve of the reforms in order to extend a loan agreement.
Meanwhile, the back-and-forth negotiations without visible results and countless statements by involved politicians continued to generate ominous media reports, with Financial Times warning that a bank run, similar to the “mini run” last month, could cause Grexident, whereas Süddeutsche Zeitung claimed that Athens has enough money to pay its bills until April 8.
Finally, Spiegel cited what it called the significant amount of cash withdrawn from Greek banks in the recent period.
