A pine cone shortage in Russia showed how hunger makes monsters of all societies, even packs of squirrels. The hungry black squirrels surprised people at a Russian park when they attacked a stray dog, desperately seeking food. The attack lasted a minute in the parkland in the center of Lazo, a village in the far east of Russia.

The big dog nosed about the trees and barked at the squirrels when they suddenly pounced on him and attacked. People at the park rushed to the dog’s aid causing the squirrels to scamper away with chunks of meat with them.

Squirrels have been known to atatck birds’ nests, however the situation has been so bad that lately they’ve been terrorizing cats in the region as well. This, however, was the first time they were known to attack a dog causing many to wonder what or whom they will attack next.
