Bulgaria closes its border for illegal immigrants

The Bulgarian authorities cooperate with Turkish police to keep refugees 40 kilometers away from the Bulgarian borders

Prime Minister Boyko Borisov stated that Bulgaria closed its borders for illegal immigrants, since the crisis has been escalated.

“Bulgaria has closed its borders for illegal immigrants. If someone wants to legally pass the borders, he can. The others cannot”, Mr. Borisov said according to Bulgarian news site OFFNews.

The Bulgarian authorities cooperate with Turkish police to keep refugees 40 kilometers away from the Bulgarian borders.

Also, the Ministry of Interior announced that 1,000 soldiers will be placed on the borders with Turkey to reinforce the security.
