A cartoon “etiquette guide” which is supposedly created for migrants who use swimming pools in Germany was in fact written in 2013 and predates the current refugee crisis, a Munich city spokeswoman said.

Rather than being produced in response to the sex attacks on women on New Year’s Eve in Cologne, the spokeswoman told the DPA news agency the leaflets have been created and released since 2013, amid general concerns about anti-social behaviour across its 18 public pools, as the Independent reports.

The ground rule of respect for women – whatever clothing they’re wearing – is unfortunately not respected by all our swimmers. That’s why there is an explicit indication about it,” the spokeswoman said.

The images which circulate in the social media inform the migrants that they are not allowed to touch a woman in a bathing costume neither pushing each other in the water.
