Chouliarakis: 2016 draft budget is a ‘landmark’ for Greek economy

“It’s the first of the four that will follow from 2016 until 2019 and will mark the government’s medium-term, fiscal policy,” he said

The 2016 draft budget is a “landmark” for the Greek economy, Alternate Finance Minister Giorgos Chouliarakis said during his address at the parliament’s Economics Committee.

“It’s the first of the four that will follow from 2016 until 2019 and will mark the government’s medium-term, fiscal policy,” he said.

Mr. Chouliarakis said the government has three main aims: Implementing a fiscal policy that prevents deficits, halting recession through unrealistic targets of primary surplus and strengthening the social budget to combat unemployment and strengthen health and education.
