Civil War in SYRIZA over Z. Konstantopoulou’s mother on the NCRTV’s board

Two rival SYRIZA camps concerning the Greek National Council for Radio and Television (NCRTV-ESR)

State Minister Nikos Pappas views are world’s apart from those of Speaker of the House Zoe Konstantopoulou on the matter of the Greek National Council for Radio and Television (NCRTV-ESR). Dialogues confirm trouble and division within the party. Pappas believes that there are legal problems concerning the current composition of the NCRTV’s Board of Directors and is seeking for the immediate removal of four memers, including Lina Alexiou, Konstantopoulou’s mother. He wants a new 7-membered group as is required by law.

On her part, Konstantopoulou insists that the four members should remain at their posts. She suggests focusing on filling the three remaining posts. Furthermore, she maintains that their removal would result in the cancellation of NCRTV decisions over the last three years.

The fued between the two has created two rival camps within SYRIZA concerning the administration of the NCRTV.
