Croatian interior minister: Greece must stop forwarding Mideast migrants on to Europe

Minister Ostojic: ‎”The flow of migrants from Greece must be stopped. I will seek that at tomorrow’s meeting of EU interior ministers”

After Hungary, Croatia appears ready to close its border to war refugees, mostly desperate Syrian and Iraqis, but also to huge groups of third country nationals from as far as away as Bangladesh exploiting the refugee crisis to illegally enter Europe until they reach their desired destination.

According to media reports, Croatian Interior Minister Ranko Ostojic on Monday said Zagreb will demand that Greece, a Schengen Pact member, stop pushing through Middle Eastern nationals on through to the rest of Europe.

His comments come as the Union’s interior ministers are set to meet on Tuesday in an attempt to find a solution to the continent’s biggest migrant crisis since WWII, with almost half a million asylum seekers reaching its territory this year.

‎”The flow of migrants from Greece must be stopped. I will seek that at tomorrow’s meeting of EU interior ministers,” Ostojic told reporters at the Opatovac camp where third country nationals that enter the country in an irregular manner are being housed near the eastern town of Tovarnik.
