Dance theater performance inspired by the works of Nikos Kazantzakis

Three art forms join forces to expresses the richness of emotion of the great Greek thinker

The literary masterpieces of Nikos Kazantzakis (Captain Michalis, The Rock Garden, Zorba the Greek) are a testament to the anguish of his proud spirit, from his deepest life experiences, the heat of emotion, the world’s blinding phantasmagoria, to his extreme decisions and his reflection on man’s destiny.

Nikos Kazantzakis’ words are adapted into a dance-theater performance featuring the virtuoso dancers Giannis and Giorgos Megalakakis and their dance group, with live music, under the direction of actor Vasilis Vasilakis.

With fifteen artists on stage (actor, singer, four musicians and nine dancers), the play is is structured as an ever changing performance, in contemporary terms, with kinetic and musical shifts, always within the solid cores of word and acting.

The harmonious cooperation between the three art forms manages to expresses the richness of emotion of the great Greek thinker, so strongly associated with Crete and with the whole world.
