Dijsselbloem: No more money to Athens unless it makes effort

German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble also sent a message to the Greek government on Tuesday.

If Athens does not proceed with the necessary reforms the markets will lose confidence in the country, Eurogroup head Jeroen Dijsselbloem warned on Tuesday on the sidelines of an Ecofin meeting in Brussels.

The Dutch Finance Minister also underlined that Greece won’t receive any more money unless it makes an effort, noting that the Greek government should speed up implementation of reforms.

German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble also sent yet another message to the Greek government on Tuesday.

According to Reuters, the German FinMin said no aid would be handed to Greece until international creditors agree that it has delivered on its reform commitments.

“Greece must talk to the institutions in order to ensure that the Memorandum of Understanding is fulfilled,” he told reporters in Brussels.
