Obama visit to Greece on agenda of talks

US President Barack Obama received President-elect Donald Trump at the White House, where the former briefed the winner of the elections on a number of issues. The two men talked for about 90 minutes and the agenda included Obama’s official visit to Greece next week. “I want to emphasise to you, Mr. President-elect, that we now are going to do everything we can to help you succeed because if you succeed, then the country succeeds,” Obama told his successor during a brief photo opportunity afterwards. The White House spokesperson announced that Barack Obama briefed President-elect Donald Trump of his last official visit to Greece, Germany and Peru. Following the meeting Barack Obama stated he was confident the “transfer of power between the two presidencies will be smooth”. Obama dubbed their talks “excellent”. “If the President succeeds, then the country succeeds”, Obama said. Speaking to reporters, Barack Obama said the two spoke of matters concerning foreign and domestic policy, as well as administrative and organisational issues regarding the White House. “I believe it is important for all of us regardless of political affiliations to unite, and work together to address the many challenges”, Obama underlined. On his part, Donald Trump expressed his respect to Barack Obama, adding that they talked about great things and different situations. “President it was a great honour being with you, and I look forward to being meeting with you many times in the future”, Trump said.
