European Parliament President Martin Schulz said on Saturday that the European Union will help Greece recover the assets that have been taken out of the country.
More specifically, in an interview to “Parapolitika” newspaper, Schulz urged the Greek government to get to work and fight tax evasion and fraud.
“Greece will have both the EU and the European governments by its side if it gets to work and makes it its first priority to fight tax evasion and fraud,” the European Parliament presidents said.
Moreover, he stressed the need for the “rich Greeks to assume a greater burden not just for ethical reasons, but also because this will contribute to the increase of tax revenues.”
