European Parliament President Antonio Tajani retracted his statements calling labeling FYROM “Macedonia” during a visit to the country last year, following the backlash caused in Greece. The EP’s Office issues a statement stressing that Mr. Tajani confirmed the European Parliament’s standing position that body recognised the country by its internationally accepted name of “Former Yugoslav Republic Of Macedonia-FYROM”.
