Failure to settle new debts in 15 days means exclusion from 100-instalment plan

Revised plan takes effect from July 1

The revised, stricter debt settlement scheme for overdue payments to the Tax Office will take effect from July 1. According to new plan, citizens with overdue debts will be excluded from the 100-instalment scheme if they fail to settle any new debts within a fortnight. The revised scheme is in accordance to article 4 provided in the new memorandum signed by the Greek government with its lenders. Any new arrears to the tax office of the Greek state will automatically exclude the debtor from the 100-instalment scheme from now on.
