Farmers’ meeting with gov’t risks failing

It seems that the first dialogue scheduled to take place today might not bring the desired results

Tsiaras: “We have met many of the farmers’ demands; there is room for further interventions, and society expects responsibility”(updated)

However, it seems that the first dialogue scheduled to take place today might not bring the desired results, since the government has stated that it does not discuss any changes on the scheduled meeting, despite the fact that blockades of Nikea asked to meet with the prime minister on Tuesday, while blockades of Tempe Valley have expressed their concern over the substance of the discussion.

Farmers from several other blockades have stated that they will remain on the roads emphasizing at the same time that if the government does not commit that it will withdraw Katrougalos draft based on their proposals, they will intensify their protest actions blocking the roads indefinitely.

Moreover, the farmers at the roadblocks of Eastern Macedonia-Thrace have already decided not to attend the meeting with the prime minister on Monday.
