Ferry strike ends!

Seamen Union accepted the proposal by the shipowners’ association on the rate of the wage rise

The Panhellenic Seamen’s Federation (PNO) decided to end the strike after a day and a half that had resulted in major disruptions for holidaymakers and the transport of goods across the Greek seas to islanders.

The decision to suspend takes effect immediately, which means ships will commence their regular routes shortly on Tuesday.

In its announcement, PNO announces that it finally accepted a proposal for a 2% rise in wages from 1 January 2018 submitted by the Greek Shipowners Association for Passenger Ships (SEEN) on Monday, a proposal which it had rejected 24 hours earlier!
