France objects to suspension of Greek debt relief measures by EuroGroup, says Sapin

French Minister of Finance backs Greek positions

French Finance Minister Michel Sapin said France disputed the decision by the EuroGroup for the suspension of the medium-term measures of relief for the Greek debt. The EuroGroup spokesperson had announced the council’s decision to suspend the implementation of the measures concerning the Greek debt until the financial promises made by Greek PM Alexis Tsipras of freezing the VAT hikes in the Aegean islands and offering an economic benefit to 1.6 million low income pensioners were reviewed in detail.
