Government spokesperson Sofia Voultepsi in her interview to Ant1 TV on Wednesday attacked main opposition SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras.

“Mr. Tsipras is a magic picture, because he appears and disappears when issues arise which can be exploited politically. We have not felt any pressure and we can’t feel any pressure because Mr. Tsipras is challenged by his own party,” Mrs. Voultepsi underlined.

The Government spokesperson also referred to Greek President Karolos Papoulias’ statement on Thursday that Democracy suffered a setback due to the recent crisis.

More specifically, Mrs. Voultepsi said that what retreated is our notion for Democracy since we have come to the point of identifying the junta with the memorandum.

“Because we lived 40 years in a society of artificial prosperity with loans and believed that democracy means getting a job as public sector employees and evade taxes, we have come to a point where we identify the junta with the memorandum.”
