First time country misses out of finals

Greece will not be represented in the Eurovision song contest finals for the first time since the competition’s its inception.  ‘Argo’, the group that performed the song ‘Utopian Land’ did not impress the voting fans in the preliminary finals and was left out of the finals. After the failure, the social media was alight with harsh criticism by Greek fans expressing their views about the poor performance. In the first semi-finals, the Russian entry caught the fan’s attention and passed through with another 9 counties: Azerbaijan, Russia, Holland, Hungary, Croatia, Austria, Armenia, Czech Republic, Cyprus and Malta. The second semi-finals will be held Thursday, while the final will take place Saturday. Eurovision is a song contest that mainly hosts light pop-rock entries from European countries every year where European fans have to opportunity to vote their favourite song.
