Mr. Tsipras was reassured that the status quo on the borders of Europe would remain

Newsroom February 20 12:56

Upon the completion of European Council’s meeting, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said that “it was a difficult meeting” on two very important issues, ‘Brexit’ and refugee crisis.

The meeting with the European leaders gave the opportunity to Alexis Tsipras to ask for joint actions in solving the problems, while he also stressed the need for solidarity and co-responsibility since Greece has borne the biggest part of the refugee crisis.

Mr. Tsipras also stated that the member states would cooperate so as the borders will remain open, and that the agreement with Turkey on stemming the refugee flow would be honored.

Mr. Tsipras was reassured that the status quo on the borders of Europe would remain and that the possibility of expelling Greece from the Schengen zone was ruled out.
