Greece’s fifth Rio 2016 medal in Yachting

Crew aim for gold

Greece has secured its fifth medal (likely a sliver) at the Rio 2016 Olympics, after the two-member crew of Panayiotis Mantis and Pavlos Kagialis that took part in the 470 yacht race heats have effectively ‘wrapped up’ second spot in the overall rankings in the series of races. The only thing that remains to be seen is the colour of the medal. The Greek crew will be aiming for gold in the last race, something they can achieve if they manage to beat the Croatian crew who are the current overall leaders. In the worst case scenario the Greek crew could and up with a bonze, a very slim likelihood, as the US crew trailing them are too far behind in points to cover the difference in the final heat.
