The Greek European Citizens will cooperate with major coalition partner New Democracy and Prime Minister Antonis Samaras in the upcoming general elections to be held on January 25, the leader of the party, George Chatzimarkakis announced on Friday.

Mr. Chatzimarkakis noted that, on the way to the elections, the Greek European Citizens believe that a consensus among all political parties is needed so that the country can move forward smoothly to the post-memorandum era.

The leader of the Greek European Citizens also stressed that the decision to follow the path of cooperation is based on common sense and is for the interest of the nation.
