Greek finance crime investigative bodies get full access to bank accounts

Taxpayers bank accounts will be open to investigative bodies

Taxpayers bank accounts will be opened to investigative authorities from the finance ministry, the financial police, as well as corruption prosecutors. Full access to bank accounts was decreed following an order signed by caretaker Alternate Finance Minister Tryfon Alexiadis that was published in the government gazette.

The decision extends and modifies bank accounts records system and will cut through red tape in other problems that have yet to be resolved. Investigations related to terrorism and organized crime will be facilitated by the new rules.
