Greeks from Atlantis set foot on America long before anyone else

Christos A. Djonis’ book says that explorers from Atlantis had made their way to America

Author Christos A. Djonis’ new book, titled “Uchronia? Atlantis Revealed” examines the Greek legendary island with the advanced population described by ancient philosopher Plato and a story dated to 9600 B.C. that has fuelled imaginations for generations. Mr. Djonis believes that explorers from Atlantis set foot in Newfoundland. He says that Atlantians were a major naval power and discovered America long before the Vikings or other Europeans.

UCHRONIA

He claims to have located the “sunken island” in the Mediterranean Sea lying beneath 400 feet of water and matching exactly the description provided by Plato’s works.

The author says that major flooding events in the Mediterranean thousands of years ago caused the sea level to rise.

According to Mr. Djonis:

There are others who passionately believe that Newfoundland may have been a broken piece of that distant land across the ocean, where from the Atlantians were advancing against the whole of Europe, Africa and Asia.

Of course, to help critics spoil any serious research on the matter, there are those who support Atlantis but whose entire knowledge is based on worlds entirely created by fiction writers. Many of these people seem to have forgotten where the story originated from, and as time goes by, more and more ‘supporters’ of Atlantis turn to spiritualism and begin to support bizarre theories that have nothing to do with Plato’s original 2,400-year-old account. Unfortunately, no amount of tangible evidence can ever convince these people to accept that Atlantis was actually a prehistoric island in the Mediterranean.

The book suggests that the discovery of infamous biblical cities such as Sodom and Gomorrah and the once-thought fictional Troy can lead us to believe that Atlantis was an actual place.

Proper translation of Plato’s works placed Atlantis among the Cycladic islands. Indeed, remnants of ancient civilizations dating back at least 6,000 years have been found around these islands. Mr. Djonis points to a Cycladic plateau in the region that later broke off to create the islands we know today:

This immense plateau formed a super island that was drowned by the sea at around 8000 BC, during the rapid rise of the Mediterranean and just prior to the flooding of the Black Sea. When comparing this sunken island to Plato’s Atlantis, we have a perfect match,” he said. “If anybody proves me wrong I’ll be shocked.

We now have a place where all the physical aspects of a proposed site, as well as the geology and flora and fauna, all match to Plato’s description of Atlantis. From this part of the Mediterranean, Plato claimed, the Atlantians were able to cross outside the Strait of Gibraltar and via island-hopping — most likely from Scotland, to the Faroe Islands, to Iceland, to Greenland — they were able to visit the American continent across the ocean. Obviously, Newfoundland and Labrador was the doorway to this New World.

Let us not forget that 10,000 years ago, with the ocean levels at least 400 feet lower, there was so much more land mass between Scotland, Iceland and Greenland that island-hopping to North America could not have been more difficult than crisscrossing the Mediterranean.

The location I have is a perfect description of Plato’s Atlantis, which should be sufficient for somebody serious to go in and start digging,” Djonis said. “That’s how they found the city of Troy. Somebody said Troy is real, picked up the book and went to Turkey and started looking.”
