Their meeting lasted an hour and not joint statements were made by the two leaders. Sources from Paris say that Hollande was unsatisfied with the pace of the economic and fiscal reform program adopted by the Greek government and the handling of the refugee crisis. Sources says the French President said ‘I want to save Greece, not Tsipras’.

On his part, Tsipras claimed the delays in the reform package were a consequence of disagreements within the Quartet. Due to the Greek PM’s visit to France the scheduled plenary discussion in the Greek parliament on the proposal for establishing a enquiry committee on political party bank loans is postponed for Friday at 10 in the morning.
