A shocking video shows a man who has taken a woman hostage stabbing her before being chased and brutally beaten by angry mob in Philippines.

The attacker was holding the woman threatening to kill her with a knife while the panicked bystanders started shouting at him, probably to let her go.

But the man stabs the woman and starts running with the angry mob chasing him.

Dozens of people beat and kick the attacker in the middle the street.

The victim, who is believed to be vegetable vendor Lenneth Enjambre, she suffered wounds to her left leg and arm.
