Slovakian ECB member hints at Grexit

Jozef Makuch states that the Eurozone is now prepared to manage a Greek exit from the euro

Governing Council Member of the European Central Bank (ECB) Jozef Makuch said “there is no need to insist that we have 18 Member States”, thus leaving possible the possibility of Greece leaving the euro area. The European banker spoke to the Slovakian news agency TASR and stated that “when a country is not willing to comply with the rules, then it must exit from the euro.” His comments intensify the fear of a possible Grexit. Furthermore, he stressed that the Eurozone is now prepared to manage a Greek exit from the euro although this would not be a positive development. He said “no one wishes to head towards this direction.”
