4.5 tons of aromatic plants which a group of 15 Albanians illegally had collected from the mountains of Tsamantas in the frontier of Thesprotia with Albania, were seized by the police after an operation in the region.

The group of Albanians who had no travel documents passed by the Albanian territory in the Mourganas, the paths of the mountain, and in past days they collected the herb ‘osfakidi “cognate sage, which is considered to have healing power.

The 15 Albanians were arrested and they said to the police that they intended to sell the plants in their home country, while they would had transferred the plans with mules. The police investigating the case and the arrested will be led to the prosecutor tomorrow with the formed file against them.
