It was raining Miss Greeces at the Miss World, but Miss Spain won in the end

One Miss Greece left by herself for family reasons, but the Miss Greece replacement was kicked out due to inappropriate behavior

Mireia Lalaguna Royo took the top prize in the 65th edition of the Miss World pageant this year in Sanya, China.

The other 5 finalists were contestants from Russia, Lebanon, Indonesia and Jamaica

Royo takes over the crown from the 2014 winner Rolene Strauss of South Africa.

Miss Greece Theodora Moschouri had been ousted from the competition at the start of the month due to “inappropriate behavior”, after she went to the competition to represent Greece when Katerina Galiatsatou had to leave due to family reasons.
On the Miss World website she describes herself as “spontaneous, impulsive and sensitive.” She stated: “I grew up living on the Aegean Island Chios, which is known for its majestic and fragrant plains, full of orange, lemon and tangerine trees.”

The country last won the pageant when Irene Skliva was crowned winner back in 1996. She was 18 at that time.
