Kammenos: Varoufakis was working for US hedge funds when he was FinMin!

Evidence of his incredibly serious allegations pending

Bombastic Greek lawmaker Panos Kammenos, the head of the populist-rightist and formerly anti-memorandum Independent Greeks’ (AN.EL) party, on Thursday accused Yanis Varoufakis of working towards a Grexit that would benefit, amongst others, US-based hedge funds!
Speaking at a press conference a day after a political leaders debate, the former SYRIZA coalition partner and defence minister in the seven-month-long SYRIZA-AN.EL government, said the eccentric former Greek FinMin appeared to have been swayed by an offer from German FinMin Wolfgang Schauble to pay Greece a hefty sum and forgive much of the country’s external debt, but in exchange for the country’s exit from the euro area.
Kammenos, who appeared slightly more conciliatory and low-key in Wednesday’s debate, said Grexit would have been towards the benefit of Schauble, northern European members and US hedge funds, “for whom he (Varoufakis) had worked for in the past”.
He did explain exactly how certain countries would have benefited, nor did he present evidence that Varoufakis intentionally promoted Grexit towards the financial gain of third parties.
AN.EL’s MPs voted in favor of the third memorandum negotiated, signed and delivered to Parliament for ratification in August by the Tsipras government.
