Magnitude 7.7 earthquake hits Hindu Kush, Afghanistan

Dozens dead, hundreds injured

A major earthquake was felt in the northern part of Pakistan. It was also felt in Afghanistan, and as far away as New Delhi, India.

Office workers poured onto the streets as the sustained shaking rattled their buildings.

The epicenter, according to director fo sesmology at the Indian Meteorological Department, says the earthquake’s epicenter was in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.

The full extent of the damage is not yet known though there are early reports of several deaths.
