The energy performance fee has brought changes to the real estate market, since energy performance certificates are needed if a property is sold or rented and this has been mandatory since January 1.

According to the newspaper “Ethnos”, the cost for issuing a certificate varies starting from 150 euros for apartments and reaching to 200 euros for detached houses. Failing to comply with this measure lead to a 1,000-10,000 fine.

The energy performance certificate should also be mentioned in the real estate advertisements and included in the sale and rent contracts.
