German Chancellor Angela Merkel is willing to participate in a meeting asked by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on the sidelines of the EU Summit, Reuters reported on Wednesday, citing Chancellery’s sources.
Merkel spokesman Steffen Seibert said if the president of the European Council Donald Tusk decides to convene such a meeting, the German leader will attend it.
According to sources, Tsipras has already requested from Tusk to arrange a five-way meeting with the participation of the German Chancellor, French President Francois Hollande, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, ECB president Mario Draghi and himself.
