Aliki Valavani says she was afraid

Aliki Valavani, mother of former Alternate Finance Minister Nadia Valavani admitted exclusively to Proto Thema newspaper that she withdrew 200 thousand euros from her bank account because she feared she would loose it. “It is my life’s savings…I was afraid and took it home”, said the 85-year-old woman. She claimed that she had no intention of transferring the money abroad but wanted to keep it safe. Aliki Valavani explained that she acted just before the announcement of the referendum.
