ND leader: Greece needs a different economic policy mix

He stressed that without investments there will be no new jobs in Greece

“Greece needs a different policy mix that will emphasise structural reforms and not taxes and give the opportunity to the country to attract a significant number of investments, the leader of main opposition party New Democracy, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, said on Tuesday after a meeting in Paris with Angel Gurría, the head of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

Their meeting lasted more than one hour and the two sides focused on the cooperation between the organization and Greece as well on the studies conducted today for the country.

“Greece today needs a different economic policy mixture that will place more emphasis on cutting taxes, state spending, but more importantly on the structural and essential reforms that will allow our country to attract a significant number of investments,” he said.

Mr. Mitsotakis also stressed that without investments there will be no new jobs in Greece, noting that the current government cannot bring them to the country.
