Her name means ‘country’, which is the reason she decided to join the Kurdish Peshmerga forces to defend her lands against the Islamic jihadist terrorists. Her new husband will also join the fight against ISIS. The daughter of Kurdish immigrants knows the risks involved in her decision and admits she misses her family, but adds her priorities are very clear now. She wants to take revenge for all the women raped and killed by ISIS. ‘We do not fear ISIL. We will continue to defend our lands. We will fight till our final breath and won’t let them march forward’, she says.
