Over 100 hyperreal miniature film sets gathered in a museum

The museum also features many movie props and costumes

Located in the historic center of Lyon, France, the Musee Miniature & Cinema is dedicated to the art of movie miniatures and props presenting over 100 hyperreal miniature scenes on two stories.

These creations were almost all created by museum curator Dan Ohlmann and are mirages of their own kind.

“Their outstanding realism revives one’s memories and exhales a distinct sense of nostalgia. The subtle lighting arrangement, the painstaking replication of old textures, the use of the same original materials, all contribute to the creation of a moving poetry that resonates with each new miniature panorama,” explains the museum website.

The museum also features many movie props and costumes and there are also rooms dedicated to the various arts employed in miniatures and movie-making models.
