Overdue tax debt to the State reached 67.25 billion euros in late June, as the number of taxpayers who are unable to meet their tax obligations increases.

According to data from the General Secretariat of Public Revenue for June, the total overdue tax debt grew by 880 million euros, reaching a record high of 67.25 billion euros.

Collection of older overdue debt totaled 944 million euros in the first half of the year and, as a result, old tax debt dropped to 61.025 billion euros.

On the other hand, the new debt which was created after January 1 increased by 1.027 billion euros between June and May. For these debts the collection in previous months reached 739 million euros.
