Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is in Brussels today after an invitation by European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker. The decision to meet reportedly took place following contact made on Tuesday. Juncker suggested a meeting so that the government proposal for an agreement with EU partners – a 47-page text sent two days ago – could be discussed.
In Brussels, Tsipras will have telephone contact with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande concerning their final offer for a deal. Bloomberg reports that Tsipras will also meet with Eurogroup President Jeroen Dijsselbloem while there.
