A large protest is under way in front of the Labour Ministry on Stadiou Avenue, in downtown Athens. The demonstrators, who are part of the Greek Communist Party’s (KKE) unions in tourism, retirees, students and workers, have blocked traffic on Stadiou avenue. They are protesting against the social security law passed by Minister Katrougalos and its negative impact on the workers. Social Security Fund (IKA) pensioners are protesting against the cuts in their pensions provided in the new Katrougalos law.
