Schaeuble: Greece will not need a new programme and will return to the markets in 2018

Optimistic for the first time…

The German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble stated on Friday in an interview with German newspaper Rheinische Post that “I expect that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will remain in the Greek programme. It is not so important the percentage it will participate with. What matters is that it will do so”.

“I consider that Greece will not need another aid package and it will return to markets in 2018 as it has been scheduled. The Greek issue will not play any role in the German elections,” he added.
