Schauble: Britain does not have limitless time to withdraw from EU

Delay poisons economy, he said

Newsroom June 30 10:27

German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schauble expressed concerns that prolonged negotiations for Britain’s exit from the EU would create a cascade effect in Europe. Schauble called for the Brexit procedures to move forwards swiftly in statement he made in Luxembourg. The German Finance Minister doubled down on his view that ‘in (the EU) means in and out means out’, adding that Britain did bot have unlimited time to decide when to invoke article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty. Schauble said protracted Brexit procedures would ‘poison’ the economy.
