These psychedelic spirals are surely going to hurt your brain.

This bright pattern is the most recent optical illusion that drives the internet crazy and is the work of Akiyoshi Kitaoka, a professor of psychology in Kyoto, Japan, who specialises in visual perception.

The picture appears to show green, blue and pink swirls – but not all is as it seems.

It turns out that the spirals aren’t actually different colours, but they’re both bright green.
