According to reports, employees of Softex were informed by telephone that the factory will permanently shut down, since Bolton Group claims that it cannot meet its financial obligations due to last year’s fire that caused damages to the factory.

The Ministry of Labour issued a statement saying that it will use every legal mean so as to prevent the factory from shutting down and save 200 job positions.

According to the ministry, after the fire that broke out in July 2015 in a unit of the factory, the company received a very small reimbursement from the insurance companies. As the ministry claims that was an “excuse” so as instead of fixing the problem and continuing the operation of Softex preserving the job positions, Bolton Group decided to shut down Softex.
