A student who stabbed a man in the eye using a Christian Louboutin stiletto heel has walked free from court.

Shadiya Omar, 22, attacked Justin Lloyd, also 22, as they both waited for a taxi home after a night out in the center of Manchester city.

Manchester Crown Court heard Lloyd approached Omar’s friend outside the Mercure Hotel in Piccadilly Gardens on October 18, 2014 and offered her a crisp. But, the woman knocked them out of his hand and he, therefore, attempted to pour them over her head.

The reaction of Omar was to hit him in the eye with her stiletto shoe.

The court heard there was a dispute between the women and Lloyd’s group of friends as she attempted to get in a black cab.

Police arrived to the scene and Omar was arrested, while Lloyd was treated at the hospital for injuries to his left eye.

He was left suffering with bruising, cuts and bleeding to the lower lid, cuts to the upper lid and a fracture to the eye orbit.

The court heard that he miraculously did not lose his eyesight and that he still suffers with stabbing pains and the psychological after effects.

Omar, who pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding, said she had only removed her shoes because they were hurting and she was not intending to use them as a weapon.

Her lawyer said that she was only brandishing the heel to stop Lloyd hassling her friend and she had no motive to actually strike him in the eye.
