The 9 MVSEs of BVLGARI (see dazzling jewelry and video)

Bulgari pays tribute to the nine muses of Greek mythology and Carla Bruni while remembering the Greek heritage of the Sotirios Voulgaris who founded the jewelry house

Italian jewelry house Bulgari looked to its Greek roots as the inspiration behind the new MVSA high jewelry collection comprised of 26 one-of-a-kind pieces. Rich hues evoke the world of ancient Greek mythology with gems that serve to tell the stories of the nine muses, the daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne (Memory) and goddesses of inspiration. The collection is bound to beguile visitors to the 27th Biennale des Antiquaires when it is presented at the Grand Palais, Paris, from September 11-21, 2014.

Nine of the pieces, each representing one of the nine muses – Calliope (epic poetry), Clio (history), Euterpe (song), Thalia (comedy), Melpomene (tragedy), Terpsichore (dance), Erato (lyric poetry), Polyhymnia (hymns) and Urania (astronomy) – bring together gems with eye-catching designs. Showcasing the jewels is modern muse Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, the former French first lady, that has been dubbed by Bulgari as “a feminine ideal”.

The famous Italian brand was founded in Rome by Greek immigrant, Sotirios Voulgaris, 130 years ago.
