Transition to use of plastic money up in the air

Committee assigned with presenting plan has yet to present plan to move forward

Greek PM Alexis Tsipras might have publicly promised that legislation for transitioning to the use of plastic money would be ready by August 5, but reality shows otherwise, as the special committee set up 10 months ago to plan the steps for the move has yet to present a finished proposal. The Greek parliament closed for summer holidays in August and is scheduled to commence proceedings in September, while the Finance Ministry announced it would be replacing some member of the spacial board. The statement, released on August 11 by the General Secretariat of Public Revenues, said that one member had been dismissed from the committee, while another was being replaced.
