The president of the United States of America in welcoming the Greek Prime Minister in the Oval Office underlined: “As you know, Greece has gone through many difficulties in recent years, but it does a great job to come back and will definitely return”.

“And we”, continued Mr. Trump, “we are working in many different areas, such as the upgrading of the F-16 fleet”.

“We have a long-standing relationship, we have been good friends and allies,” the US president added.

“Thank you for the hospitality. I am sure we will have a very constructive meeting. I am confident of our strategic partnership and we will do our best to strengthen this cooperation”, replied Mr Tsipras.
