United Food Control Agency(EFET): A batch of smoked trout is recalled

The presence of the pathogenic microorganism Listeria monocytogenes has been detected in a product of the company “G.PANAGIOTOPOULOS I. BAKATSIAS FISH FARMING’.

The presence of the pathogenic micro-organism Listeria monocytogenes was detected in a product of the company ‘G. PANAGIOTOPOULOS I. BAKATSIAS O.E. FISH FARMING” by the Food Hygiene Department of the Directorate of the Athens Veterinary Centre of the Ministry of Agriculture, following an investigation of a complaint submitted to EFET.

As a result, the company recalled the following products as a precautionary measure:

– “Smoked Trout of Karpenissi (fillet)”, with the trade name “frésco” and production date from 23.01.2024 to 10.04.2024 (expiry date from 22.05.2024 to 08.08.2024).

– ‘Smoked marinated trout from Karpenisi (fillet)’, with the commercial designation ‘frésco’ and a production date of 24.01.2024 to 09.04.2024 (expiry date of 21.08.2024 to 05.11.2024).

– ‘Smoked trout from Karpenissi (whole)’, with the trade name ‘fresco’ and a production date of 24.01.2024 to 28.03.2024 (expiry date of 22.07.2024 to 24.09.2024).
