Weather – Meteo: Increased concentrations of African dust on Tuesday – Where will it rain

Muddy showers forecasted for Tuesday 23/4 – First Easter estimates

An episode of Saharan dust transport towards our country which is already underway today is expected to show a peak tomorrow Tuesday (23/4).

According to the forecast data of meteo.gr/Athens National Observatory, on Tuesday, apart from the very high dust concentrations that will limit visibility, mud showers are expected to occur mainly in the north and west of the country. On Wednesday (24/4), the shift of winds to westerly will result in the restriction of dust in the Dodecanese and its progressive removal towards the east.

The following forecast maps show:

– In red shades the dust concentration in the atmosphere during the afternoon and evening hours of Tuesday 23/04.

– In yellow the areas where muddy rain will occur during the same periods.

Monday and Tuesday will be characterised by the transfer of dust across the country and localised showers, which will apparently be mud showers in many areas, according to ERT meteorologist Panagiotis Giannopoulos.

The temperature will rise. The next weather system on Thursday and from the west will bring showers in the west and north, a few thunderstorms in northern Greece, while the temperature will also drop a little.

No more rain is expected in the country until Palm Sunday.

Over the weekend the temperature will rise again, reaching 24 to 26 degrees in the central and southern areas.
